CMS (Content Management System)

Wow I’ve just installed Joomla! successfully. :D

[Errr yeah I'm just a nOOb...]

Basically, installing other CMS than Joomla!, like WordPress or Drupal, is quite similar [err at least in your web server hehe].

  1. Download the source code from the site.
  2. Unpack the zipped/tarballed codes.
  3. Put the unpacked folder into the site root or whatever [well,, the folder where the unpacked codes exist must be accessible by Apache--errr I use Apache for the server hehehe]
  4. Then open your browser and type http://localhost or http://localhost/joomla or whatever,, just need to open the index.php though…
  5. Follow the instruction :)
  6. That’s it! Add some more things…

Wow,, those things took me so long. Why? Because…

I use Linux…

It’s just too secure though.. hehehe,,

I frequently get 403 error cuz I don’t follow the above installation. I just install CMS from YUM and wow! All the things downloaded belong to root! I had problems with the permissions… and… hmm.. yeah that’s it. Quite frustrating,, even until now I haven’t found the solution.

Anyway. At least now I have one CMS work :D
